Cold Method's Lifestyle Method

Now that ethical clothing is all the rage, capsule wardrobes are in vogue more than ever. Amsterdam-based menswear label Cold Method is far ahead of the game with their 9 Aesthetics philosophy, which states that every man needs nine aspects to lead a modern lifestyle.

Cold Method uses the basis of a t-shirt, shirt, suit, pant, jacket, sweatshirt, jeans and accessories to design around each season. The last piece to complete the Cold Method pie is CM2, a combination of furniture, cosmetics and design to suit every man's personal domain. The idea is to create an atmosphere where the Cold Method man feels comfortable—building a lifestyle formula for the stylish lad.

With over 700 existing locations to buy the brand and stores working their way into France, Germany, Italy, Russia, South Korea, Denmark, Turkey the UK and the US, Cold Method's next conquest will be Asia. They already have plans to open stores in China, Hong Kong, Macau and Singapore within the next two years.

The Cold Method man is never tired of current season trends, so they refresh each collection every six weeks. Their latest spring/summer direction, Cruise 09, takes inspiration from Miami Vice and The English Patient. The collection is both elegant and street-savvy, featuring an amalgamation of dress jackets, shiny shirts, tuxedo shirts, checked trench coats and Thai fishermen's pants—many of which include embellishments like detachable collars and satin poplins.

Thanks to Cold Method, we'd have to agree with Sonny Crockett's apt observation: "There's still a little poetry left in the world."
